I completed my first half marathon, in Orange County, CA, on May 2nd. I didn’t get as much time to train as I would have liked, partially due to a sore left foot injury. My goal was to run as much of the first half that I could and then keep up a fast walk to ensure I could finish the 13.1 mile distance before the 3 hour and 30 minute course cut off.

Since I am working part-time now, I have been spending time working on websites for others. It has been a great way to meet people and learn some new skills in the areas of website design, XML, HTML, PHP and CSS. During the past several months I have completed several different sites.

In September 2003 my husband, two daughters and I took a 4 1/2 month trip around the world. During the journey we visited 12 countries on four continents while home schooling the girls, who were in 5th and 7th grades at the time. One could call this the ultimate project management challenge in that there were all kinds of interrelated tasks that had to be completed before, during and after the trip to ensure it was safe and successful.
